May 21st – World Day for Cultural Diversity
May 21st – World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
Today we will look at the enormous benefits your child can gain as part of a diverse classroom.

The only way to truly understand a different culture is to talk with someone who comes from that culture. In Silk Road school we have students from over 35 countries.
This diversity also includes teaching staff. Having teachers and staff members of diverse backgrounds enhances the learning environment.

Diversity among students in education directly impacts their performance. It promotes creativity, as well as better education, as those with differing viewpoints are able to collaborate to create solutions.

Students are able to learn about different cultures and backgrounds, allowing them to feel a greater sense of comfort with these differences. That in turn makes them more comfortable with themselves, leading to a deeper sense of safety.

You would probably agree that the more we understand someone, the easier it becomes for us to “walk in their shoes”.
In Silk Road International we aim to foster understanding and respect for others regardless of their background
