Silk Road International School Bishkek is prepared to teach in class starting September. However the current COVID situation can not be ignored. To keep the children and their families safe, classes will be split in two groups (pods). Furniture in the classroom was removed to allow for social distancing during class hours.
While Pod 1, the first half of the class, is taught, the other children at Pod 2 stay at home working on assignments or getting coached online. SRIS developed this hybrid teaching concept over the summer.
“We know that students miss school and we are ready to teach offline as soon as the Ministry of Education allows us” , says Ms. Shelly Gupta, the school director. “But we are prepared for everything and have a full concept to teach either hybrid or online if we have to.” she concludes in reference to the classroom changes and the adjusted teaching concept.
