SRIS students participated in American Mathematics Competitions and won several awards.
SRIS students from Middle school and High School participated in the American Mathematics Competition, AMC for short, with excellent results. The awards were presented in separate ceremonies. AMC are a series of examinations and curriculum materials that build problem-solving skills and mathematical knowledge in middle and high school students.

What is the the American Mathematics Competitions?
The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) are a series of examinations and curriculum materials that build problem-solving skills and mathematical knowledge in middle and high school students. The AMC math competition has grown to over thousands of students worldwide participating annually from 40 different countries.
The math competition is structured in three levels:
- the AMC 8, for students under the age of 14.5 and in grades 8 and below
- the AMC 10, for students under the age of 17.5 and in grades 10 and below
- the AMC 12, for students under the age of 19.5 and in grades 12 and below
Why Mathematics Competitions are important?
International Math Competitions, like Mathematics without Borders (MWB) and American Mathematics Competitions (AMC), give our students an opportunity to measure their skills against a global competition. Silk Road International Students have performed well in recent years, it gives them confidence in their abilities and shows them that they have everything they need to pursue excellence in all their undertakings.
Registration for the next math competition is open
Mathematics Without Borders is an international Mathematics competition established 2013. The Mathematics Without Borders (MWB) finals are hosted in Bulgaria and has become one of the biggest Mathematics contests worldwide.
Registration for the new MWB round in Spring 2022 is ongoing. Parents of interested SRIS students should contact their classroom teachers for registration.
Please register your child until 11th of March 2022 for the MWB competition.
- This math competition is open for students from Grade 1 to 9.
The next AMC round will be held the next academic year. We will notify our students and parents when the registration opens.
