SRIS celebrated Nowruz, the traditional Kyrgyz Spring Festival, with their annual Spring Festival. The school organized an impressive event at the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater.

Our students had prepared an amazing program for the Festival, which incorporated the self produced musical ‘Nomadic Spirit’, about important events in Kyrgyz History. This musical was created using project based teaching and rehearsed at school.

Program for the SRIS Spring Festival:

Kyrgyzstan celebrates Nowruz, sometimes called Novruz, Nowrouz, Nooruz, Navruz, Nauroz or Nevruz. Silk Road International School prepared a complete program in honor of this public holiday.

Introduction

• Play performance and presentation of fashion design based on traditional Kyrgyz clothing.

Annual Keynote:

• Presentation by the director of Silk Road International School, Shelly Gupta, about the constant improvement at SRIS.

Nomadic Spirit:

• A musical journey into Kyrgyz history.

Celebrating Diversity:

• International parade representing the 24 nations of the SRIS community
• Kyrgyz cultural activities.
