The SRIS language department has been granted access to the Memsource Academic Edition, an academic program designed to get students in touch with state of the art translation management software (CAT). Therefore SRIS uses Memsource in training language teachers and students in the use of modern machine assisted translation techniques.
We would like to thank Memsource for granting us free access to their platform through the Memsource Academic Edition. Memsource Cloud is a complete translation platform that includes translation memory, integrated machine and human translation, terminology management, and a both online and desktop CAT tool. Memsource supports multiple users, machine pre-translation, translation memories and term bases to speed up translation work.

SRIS uses Memsource in upper high school Russian and Kyrgyz courses. We constantly are training our language team in the use of CAT and are using it to maintain this website in three languages.
Computer-assisted translation (CAT) is used in many multi-lingual companies to manage not just documents, but also multi-lingual websites or program translations. I allows you to manage user rights and workflows as well. If you are still using manual translation in your company and your staff just sends word files around via email, we recommend you give Memsource a trail. It has definitely made our life much easier at SRIS and already made us way more efficient in managing our multi-lingual communication.
